On 05 June 2024, EU4Justice organized a Joint Meeting of the High Judicial Council, High Prosecutorial Council Evaluation Committees, and High Justice Inspector on the Evaluation of Magistrates. In addition, This cross-component activity was also attended by two STEs on judicial efficiency and statistics.
The aim of this roundtable meeting is to provide a platform for discussion between the HJC, HPC and HJI to explore ways of facilitating inter-institutional cooperation and coordination allowing for a streamlined evaluation process of magistrates. Special focus was given to the standards of the evaluation process, and the way ahead for streamlining and improvement of the evaluation process. Participants from the three institutions and from the Judges’ Union shared their concerns and discussed on challenges regarding the evaluation process and its impact on the appointment and transfers of magistrates took place as well during the working meeting.
EU4JUSTICE is an EU Contribution Agreement Project implemented by AICS, Expertise France, and FIIAPP. The project’s overall objective is to the improvement of the capacity of the independent justice institutions in Albania.
