On 30 and 31 January 2024, the Workshop on ‘Best practices for prosecution system governance and career development of prosecutors’ took place, with the participation of members of the HPC and HPC legal advisors and general legal services. Two international STEs conducted the workshop, whereby participants focused their discussions on issues such as the comparative perspective of European models with the view of improving governance of the prosecutorial system, best practices that guarantee the status and protection of prosecutors, as well as concrete practical cases on the efficiency of career development of prosecutors and improving the supporting role of the legal advisors for the councils’ standing committees. Also, the discussions focused with great interest on comparative views and the applicability of Albanian law regulating the ethics and conduct of prosecutors, and on practical cases which would constitute disciplinary misconduct, including behaviour outside the function.

EU4JUSTICE is an EU Contribution Agreement Project implemented by AICS, Expertise France, and FIIAPP. The project’s overall objective is to the improvement of the capacity of the independent justice institutions in Albania.
