Three EU4Justice STEs, from 25-28 March 2024 following the needs assessment and a legal analysis during their mission in February on the standards and procedures for the ethics and professional performance evaluation of prosecutors in Albania, during this mission the STEs the STEs found that the current systems’ procedures are burdensome and time-consuming, as well as a lack of speedy collection and process of data necessary for the evaluation. The experts elaborated the report on the findings as well as recommendations for the HPC to overcome the current situation (period of evaluation 2016-2021) and to provide a solid system of evaluation in the long-term. The expert supports the Working Group amending the HPC Regulation on Ethical and Professional Performance Evaluation of Prosecutors, simplifying the process of evaluating for a more speedy and efficient evaluation for the urgency of the 2017-2021 period of evaluation.
