On July 10th, 2025, the second annual joint meeting between the High Judicial Council (HJC) and the High Prosecutorial Council (HPC) was held. The meeting aimed to present two common regulations: on the conduct of re-evaluation procedure for assessments by the High Judicial Council and the High Prosecutorial Council and on governing joint meetings and inter-institutional cooperation between the High Judicial Council and the High Prosecutorial Council.
The meeting was moderated by the Chair of the HJC, Mr. Ilir Rusi, and the Chair of the HPC, Ms. Mirela Bogdani, and was also greeted by the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Mr. Silvio Gonzato. During the meeting, the HJC and HPC reached an agreement and finalized both the regulations. These acts were prepared by joint working groups established by the Councils, with the technical support of the EU4Justice project and the International Monitoring Operation.
The meeting was accompanied by discussions by Council members, representatives of justice institutions, and international supporting partners. Each Council will hold plenary sessions on 16th July to approve the regulations. In conclusion, it was agreed that such meetings will continue to be held periodically, in order to enhance cooperation between the two Councils and to coordinate areas of mutual interest.
