The practices of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), on the disciplinary responsibilities and freedom of expression of magistrates, have been the focus of the training organized by the EU4Justice project on 29th April 2024, with the participation of the Inspectors Unit and Assistant Inspectors of the High Justice Inspector Office. The training was focused on the freedom of expression of judges and prosecutors on social media and its boundaries; the disciplinary responsibility of judges and prosecutors and other topics of interest and was delivered by EU4Justice experts together with Mr. Darian Pavli, Judge of the European Court of Human Rights and Ms. Roberta Lugarà, Lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights

The High Justice Inspector Mr. Artur Metani highlighted that the continuing professional growth of the inspectors’ corps and assistant inspectors remains a constant priority of the HJI. The judge of the European Court of Human Rights, Mr. Darian Pavli, addressed the issue of the disciplinary responsibility of magistrates as it pertains to procedural and substantive guarantees under the ECHR, while Mrs. Roberta Lugarà, brought cases from the practice of the ECHR on the freedom of expression of magistrates and its limitation.
